The South African Film and Television Production and Co-production Incentive and Location Film and Television Production Incentive.
The Department of Trade & Industry recently launched a film and television Production Rebate. This has been set at 15% of qualifying South African production expenditure for foreign productions and 25% for South African productions and official co-productions.
The maximum rebate available per production is R10 million. Qualifying criteria include a qualifying South African production expenditure of at least R25 million and 50% or 4 weeks of principal photography in South Africa.
