Durban International Film Festival
The Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) was established in 1979. It is South Africa's longest-running film festival and is widely regarded as one of the leading film festivals on the African continent.
In 2009, the festival presented 284 screenings of 268 films from 43 countries. The presentation of 70 films from South Africa is the largest concentrated showing of South African product in any comparable event. DIFF is coordinated by the Centre for Creative Arts of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, it remains the largest film festival in Southern Africa, attracting a growing audience and supporting a number of development activities in the region
